New year, new trends. With social media platforms such as Instagram and Tik Tok have widely popularized various fashion trends in the past couple of years. Influencers and celebrities have started many trends in the past. As always, trends come and go but some stick around for a while. The evolution of past fashion trends has become popular as it pays homage to past decades and styles. Here are some of our top predictions for fashions trends coming this spring.
Floral corsets and bustier tops
Most have seen the corset and bustier top trend. People have been seen embracing their bodies and wearing beautiful old-school and modern corsets across the web. In 2021 these tops made quite the impact with their appearances in celebrity photo shoots, Tik Tok trends, and popular TV shows. Billie Eilish’s British Vogue cover and the rise of Netflix’s Bridgerton only boosted the popularity of the classic style top. This Spring, corset tops may make a comeback with a fresh floral pattern.
Whimsical Dresses
Sometimes we want to romanticize our lives. The cottage core aesthetic is growing in popularity online. Flowing, whimsical dresses may make an appearance this Spring. The loose-fitting dresses provide comfort with a fairy tale feel. The simple flowing dresses look beautiful in the forest, flower fields, or any natural area. In the right setting, whimsical dresses could make for the perfect Instagram photo.
70’s Inspired Floral Prints
Spring is all about flowers, sunshine, and happiness. The season is reminiscent of the 70’s. This Spring we may see some groovy and swirly prints. Retro fashion always makes a comeback with a modern spin on it. Groovy, psychedelic prints in all colors may be all the rage this spring. Makes sure to bring your best disco finger this season.
Fringe is in
In a recent runway show, the fashion brand Proenza Schouler brought back fringe. The beautiful fringe skirts were pictured flowing down the model’s frame. The trendsetting brand is making fringe popular in 2022. We predict the trend will only grow and be used on shirts, skirts, and shows this spring. Flowing materials have been quite popular in recent months, so fringe would only make sense for spring.
Sandals
Although sandals are a classic and popular spring clothing item, we except to see more variety this upcoming season. Chunky sandals, groovy sandals, platform sandals; you’ll see it all. The classic shoe has lots of potential to evolve into a new trend. Outrageous shoes can bring an outfit to the next level this spring. Sandals may even pair perfectly with some of the trends listed above (such as a fringe dress).
Although these trends are just predictions, we encourage you to try some out. Fashion is meant for people to express themselves to show who they really are. During the pandemic fashion can be a way for people to escape from the possible stress of everyday life. So even if you’re working from home feel free to dress up and feel your best. A fun Instagram photo may even come out of it.
