It began with a vision. When sustainability and peace of mind are no longer just something nice but something required, Heller, a design firm with a legacy of fearless innovation was compelled to reimagine an icon. The Vignelli Collection lauded for its sculptural beauty and timeless form was ready for its next interpretation. But not by way of reworking shape or function. Rather, it would be reinterpreted through color.Enter Laura Guido-Clark, founder of LOVE GOOD COLOR®, a designer who believes that color is more than mere appearance, it is feeling, memory and energy in action. When Heller hired her to bring new energy to the Vignelli Collection, what was sparked was not only a new color range but a rich story of the future of modern life.
A Journey from Bold to Balanced
The Vignelli Collection was conceived by design legends Massimo and Lella Vignelli. Renowned for their “design is one” philosophy, the couple created items that were timelessness, modularity, and firmly modern. However, while the form was a masterclass in minimalism, the color scheme with its focus on bold, primary colors was in need of reinterpretation.Laura’s strategy was not trend following. It was emotional connection. She asked: How do we desire our homes to feel? And that took her back to nature an unlimited well of peace, clarity and connection. From this journey, a new palette emerged.
Six Shades that Talk the Language of Nature
Slate. Turquoise. Celadon. Citron. Ochre. Brown.
Each of the colors selected was chosen not only for its beauty but for the emotional response it evokes. Slate emits quiet strength. Turquoise captures the calmness of sea water. Celadon cools hot environments. Citron adds a burst of energy, Ochre and Brown adding earthy depth to the color scheme. These hues aren’t screaming. They’re whispering, they’re calming, they’re inspiring. And that’s about the extent of it. In a noisy world, the new Vignelli Collection presents a visual calm a space where comfort and beauty can coexist.
The Material Behind the Magic
Of course in luxury design, beauty must be paired with integrity. That’s where Heller’s Worry Free Plastics technology comes in. Every new product is created from 100 percent recyclable and regenerative materials, microplastic-free and traceless at the end of its life cycle. Not just sustainable it’s circular. The same materials that add color and warmth to your home today can be made anew tomorrow. It’s not throwaway design. It’s a commitment to a better, more beautiful tomorrow.
Design That Breathes and Lives with You
As the story goes, what makes this collection so appealing is its versatility. These are not museum pieces. They are meant to be lived in. To gather around. To settle into. The new colors make the Vignelli Collection as versatile as it is iconic moving effortlessly from indoors to outdoors from minimalist lofts to lush garden patios. Wherever you’re using your design, whether you’re designing a beachfront luxury retreat or a modernist house in Santa Barbara hills, the new color palette is a canvas for self-expression. It enables the collection not only to make a design statement, but to be part of your narrative.
The Psychology of Color and Mood
Beneath the beauty lies rigorous research. Laura Guido-Clark’s work at LOVE GOOD COLOR® is rooted in an understanding of how color impacts human emotion. Her process considers cultural context, emotional well-being, and sensory equilibrium. This collaboration with Heller is not just furniture it’s about how color can impact how we feel in our spaces. Her vision brings heart to the collection, so that each chair and table is an emotional experience. It’s a reminder that good design isn’t about how something looks but how it makes you feel.
A Collection That Respects the Past and Forecasts the Future
It’s not a reinvention. It’s a follow-through a continuation of a design narrative that’s been developing over decades. The Vignelli Collection remains true to its past while opening new doors. By having sustainability as its foundation and color as its inspiration, the collection leads the way to what contemporary luxury is and needs to be.
It’s elegant but relaxed. Grounded but global. Refined, yet deeply human.
