If you’re planning a trip to Las Vegas then we have some guide for you. The city that never sleeps.
We had so much fun there and there is so much to do you can’t possibly fit it all in one trip. But we tried!!!
Flamingo Hotel In Vegas
OMG, I loved it. It is just like walking into an old 70s hotel almost gangster/porn star style. We arrive at 10:30pm at the hotel which you think would be completely empty at the hotel check-in. But, were we wrong, with 30+ people waiting in line, we threw our bags to the bellman for safekeeping and started our adventure. We decide to go get a bite to eat and see a little of the strip before we check-in.
We start our big adventure, Harold and Kumar style with a trip to White Castle. lol, we know that this is not everyone’s vision of why you go to Vegas, but it is a great microcosm of the Vegas Strip, proving you can find anything here.
We make our big adventure out to White Castle LOL. Which is within walking distance from the hotel. It’s a Sunday night and the streets are filled and there are people everywhere. It’s the middle of May and the nights are already warm. Which I love but remember to dress weather appropriately or you will sweat your ass off.
Believe it or not, there is nightlife even on Sunday and Monday evenings. There was Live music on the way but ended at 11pm. Then we found a piano bar on our way back from White Castle. Yeah, the music was so bad but we had a great time because the energy was fantastic.
The Big changes at the Flamingo they no longer have any coffee shops or little restaurants they only have two restaurants Carlos and Charlie’s and the steakhouse. Which is just fine cause not too far you can go out to the strip to find these places but for the older people it was nice when you had it inside.
Caesars Palace
After Caesars palace from the flamingo. Super easy to get to there’s a nice bridge that attaches the two. It’s a little confusing when you get off the bridge stay to the right if you’re checking in.
It a no joke that Caesar Palace is as amazing as the pictures look. The grandioso of it is overwhelming as you walk across the bridge it’s huge. As you walk into the front lobby you’re greeted by a beautiful statue of three topless Roman goddesses. And I don’t know if it’s just because Covid it lifted or if this town is going crazy but the lines were ridiculous to check in any hotel you went too.
We get settled on the 23rd floor. The room at Caesars is beautiful. We got the king size bed and it had a small little sitting area over to the side. The bathroom was elegant decor was gray and white The designer did an amazing job. The room had a poolside view that is spectacular. From my room I can see seven pools. The main pool the centerpiece is around with gazebo in the middle. From the 23rd floor it looks like a good size pool but when you get down there it’s huge.
There were plenty of regular seating and you can also get poolside cushioned beds that surrounded the pools. The poolside menu was weak but the drinks were amazing. I had a lava flow and it was just what I needed.
For nightlife, it appeared that there wasn’t much going on at least the hotel front desk didn’t know anything. We didn’t come to find out until the last night we were here that the Omni was open and it was pumping. It has three maybe even four different dance floors one Latina one the main dance floor which was packed with thousands of people look like. And then there was an upper level which I really enjoyed not as many people and seem to be a little more classy.
Other nightlife not on the premises you’ll need to head over to The cosmopolitan where they have a speakeasy called the barbershop. It looks like a regular barber shop and then they take you into the bar and we had so much fun there. We spent two evenings there one watching this band called _______. The lead singer not only had a set of pipes but she was an amazing performer. So wanted to check it out for the second night. It almost scared us off because it was karaoke. We’re not a big fan of karaoke nights. But going there on karaoke night was well worth it it was unbelievable the talent that was in the audience. I was completely taken back by it.
Flaws
And some of the bigger hotels nickel and dime you for everything. There’s even a charge to put your drinks into the fridge raider. The ice bucket could barely fit two drinks. LOL
My drink by the pool was $32 which I found a little bit steep. And at the Barbershop, it was eight dollars for a small bottle of water.
I thought the poolside might be a little more happening. It was just OK. Not a lot going on down there it was prettier to view from my window than actually being downstairs.
