Las Vegas truly lives up to its reputation as the entertainment capital of the world. With over-the-top nightlife, flashy casinos, and luxury at every turn, it’s the kind of place where the more gaudy, glitzy, or glamorous something is the better. Whether you’re into world-class restaurants, casinos, live shows, or just people-watching on the Strip, you’re guaranteed to find your calling in this adult playground.
But if you’re looking for a little guidance and insider scoop… we’ve got you.
Our Vegas Experience: You Can’t Do It All, But We Tried
We packed as much fun as humanly possible into one trip and we’re still recovering. There’s no way to fit everything into one visit, but we gave it our best shot!
The Flamingo Hotel: Retro Vibes and Surprise Adventures
First Impressions
OMG I loved the Flamingo. It’s like stepping into a vintage 1970s movie set equal parts gangster and adult film star vibes. It’s old-school Vegas in the best possible way.
We arrived around 10:30 p.m., expecting an easy check-in. Wrong. There were 30+ people in line, so we handed our bags to the bellman and hit the Strip to get the party started.
First Stop: White Castle (Yes, Really)
Our first mission? A Harold and Kumar-style trip to White Castle. It might not be on everyone’s Vegas bucket list, but for us, it was a hilarious and oddly perfect way to kick off the weekend. It’s close to the hotel and serves as a perfect example of how you can find everything in Vegas even sliders at midnight.
It was a warm May night, and the Strip was still buzzing even on a Sunday. Remember to dress for the weather or you’ll sweat your ass off.
Late-Night Music and Piano Bar Chaos
Even on a Sunday or Monday, there’s nightlife to be found. We caught some live music that ended around 11 p.m., then stumbled upon a piano bar. The music? Honestly, terrible. But the energy was so fun that we stayed and laughed our way through it.
What’s Changed at The Flamingo
Heads up: The Flamingo no longer has casual coffee shops or grab-and-go food spots. It’s down to just two restaurants—Carlos & Charlie’s and the steakhouse. That’s fine if you’re willing to walk out to the Strip for food, but older guests or families may miss the convenience.
Caesars Palace: Bigger, Bolder, and Totally Worth It
Getting There from The Flamingo
It’s an easy stroll from The Flamingo to Caesars Palace via a pedestrian bridge. Once you cross, keep right to find the check-in area—it’s a bit confusing at first.
Go Big or Go Home
Caesars Palace is just as jaw-dropping in person as it looks in photos. Walking in, you’re met with towering columns, dramatic décor, and a statue of three topless Roman goddesses greeting you at the front. It’s excessive in all the best ways.
Check-in lines were brutal (probably due to the post-COVID travel boom), but once we got to our room, it was all worth it.
Our Stay on the 23rd Floor
The room was stunning. We had a king-size bed, a cozy sitting area, and a bathroom straight out of a luxury design catalog—gray and white tones, sleek fixtures, and a great layout.
But the best part? The view. From our window, we could see seven pools—yes, seven—with the main pool featuring a gorgeous gazebo at the center.
Poolside Paradise… Kind Of
From the 23rd floor, the pool scene looked incredible. Up close, it was still beautiful—but not quite as lively as expected. There were loungers and cushioned beds for rent, but not much in terms of energy or entertainment.
The drinks, however, were fire. I ordered a Lava Flow, and it hit just right though the $32 price tag was a bit much.
The poolside menu itself was weak nothing exciting. Still, sipping a frozen drink while overlooking Roman columns and cabanas is a moment.
Nightlife at Caesars: A Hidden Party
Surprisingly, the front desk didn’t offer much help when we asked about nightlife. We didn’t find out until our last night that Omnia was open—and totally packed.
This place is a scene. Multiple dance floors, each with a different vibe: Latin music in one, a massive crowd on the main floor, and a quieter, more refined upper level. It felt like a nightclub buffet and we loved every part of it.
Off the Strip: The Barbershop at The Cosmopolitan
Looking for a hidden gem? Head to The Cosmopolitan and find The Barbershop. From the outside, it looks like an actual barbershop—but behind the scenes, it opens into a secret speakeasy bar.
We had such a blast there we went two nights in a row. One night featured an incredible live band with a killer female lead singer. The second night? Karaoke. We almost skipped it, but ended up having one of the most unexpectedly fun nights ever. The talent in the room was unreal—like a mini concert from random people in the audience.
The Not-So-Glam Side of Vegas
Let’s be real—Vegas will nickel and dime you to death. Some of the bigger hotels charge extra just to use the mini fridge. Ours even had a sticker warning us about fees for putting our own drinks in it. The ice bucket? Barely fit two cans.
At the pool, my drink was $32. At The Barbershop, a small bottle of water was $8. It’s the price of indulgence, I guess—but still worth knowing before you go.
And while the pool area at Caesars looked incredible from above, the vibe was just okay once we were actually down there. It turns out some views are best enjoyed from your window.
Final Thoughts
Vegas is wild, overwhelming, and full of surprises. Between vintage Flamingo vibes, Caesars’ grandeur, and secret karaoke speakeasies, our trip was unforgettable—and hilarious. Just don’t expect to do it all in one go. Pack your energy, your wallet, and a sense of humor, and you’ll have the time of your life.
